Laboratory NEW TECH LAB

How the NEW TECH LAB laboratory works

Many companies in the fire safety sector state that their products comply with European standards, but very few operate an in-house laboratory that verifies that compliance continuously, batch by batch. NEW TECH LAB has taken this approach for its certified product NTL GREEN, obtained from the regeneration of expired ABC extinguishing powder.

The technical requirements the powder must meet are set out in the EN 615:2009 standard — that article covers what the standard certifies in detail. Here we focus on a different angle: how the Skawina laboratory is organised to guarantee that compliance every day, not just on paper.

The laboratory operates within the company’s certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, integrated with the ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 environmental and energy certifications. This means it is not an isolated quality-control unit, but a node within the system that receives inputs (incoming batches of expired ABC powder) and produces verifiable outputs (the analytical reports that accompany every batch of NTL GREEN).

For a customer or partner assessing the reliability of the regenerated product, this distinction matters: a control infrastructure that runs every day, on every batch, is a different — and stronger — guarantee than a generic compliance statement.

Laboratory equipment and team expertise

The in-house laboratory is equipped with instruments dedicated to the physico-chemical analysis of extinguishing powders: calibrated sieves for particle size distribution, instruments for measuring hygroscopicity and moisture absorption, equipment for verifying mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP%) content, and systems for extinguishing-efficacy and environmental-compatibility testing.

This equipment is operated by technical staff trained according to the documented procedures of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. These are not occasional tests outsourced to third parties, but checks carried out in-house, with specific expertise maintained and kept up to date over time.

The combination of dedicated equipment and qualified in-house staff allows NEW TECH LAB to run the full analytical package required for every batch without depending on external laboratories for routine checks, shortening verification times and keeping full control over the data generated at every stage of the regeneration process.

How samples are managed

The quality-control process begins with taking a representative sample from every incoming batch of expired ABC powder, before the regeneration process even starts. The sample is identified with a unique batch number, which follows it through the entire analytical pathway and is later linked to the outgoing batch of certified NTL GREEN product.

Once regeneration is complete, a second sample verifies that the final product meets all the required chemical, physical and extinguishing parameters before release to the market. Only batches that pass every check move on to packaging and sale as a certified product.

Every analytical result is recorded and linked to the batch number, making the data traceable at any later point. This traceability is integrated with the company’s BDO registration (no. 000141354) and with the waste-transfer documentation (KPO), ensuring that the entire path — from collection of the expired powder to the laboratory report — can be reconstructed for every batch produced.

Testing frequency and external verification

Laboratory control is not occasional sampling: every batch of NTL GREEN is analysed internally before release, with no exceptions. This approach is consistent with the continuous-improvement model required by ISO 9001:2015, which calls for systematic process monitoring rather than a single, isolated check.

Internal control complements — without replacing — the independent external verification carried out by the Keurmerk Institute, which issued the Green Certificate for NTL GREEN in 2023 and reconfirmed it in 2025, as reported in the article dedicated to the EN 615 standard published on the NEW TECH LAB website.

This two-tier approach — continuous internal control plus periodic external verification — is what allows NEW TECH LAB to guarantee that laboratory data does not remain an internal exercise, but finds independent confirmation over time.

FAQ — Questions about the NEW TECH LAB laboratory

What is NEW TECH LAB’s in-house laboratory?

It is the technical unit at the Skawina site that analyses every incoming and outgoing batch of ABC powder, using dedicated equipment and staff trained under the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

What kind of equipment does the laboratory use?

Calibrated sieves for particle size distribution, instruments for hygroscopicity, equipment for MAP% content, and systems for extinguishing-efficacy and environmental-compatibility testing.

How is the traceability of laboratory results guaranteed?

Every sample is linked to a unique batch number, integrated with the company’s BDO registration (no. 000141354) and KPO documentation, so the product’s entire path can be reconstructed.

Does the in-house laboratory replace external certifications?

No. It complements the independent verification carried out by the Keurmerk Institute, which certified NTL GREEN in 2023 and reconfirmed it in 2025, without replacing that verification.

How to request the analysis report for an NTL GREEN batch

  1. Identify the batch

locate the NTL GREEN batch number shown on the supply documentation or on the label of the product received.

  2. Contact NEW TECH LAB

send a request by email to firma@newtechlab.pl or by phone on +48 535 566 519, stating the batch number.

  3. Specify the analyses required

indicate whether you need the full report or specific data, such as MAP% content or particle-size results.

  4. Receive the traceable report:

the team will provide the document with the analytical results linked to the batch number.

  5. Archive the document for audit purposes

keep the report for your internal reporting or ESG/quality due-diligence purposes.

Developing NewTechLab’s business activity is an activity on many levels. One of the key elements is to maintain the high quality of our products. However, looking more broadly, we also care about sustainable development, which has a large impact on the protection of the natural environment. It is a special commitment to the planet and an investment in the future of our children. In order for all these elements to work together, education is needed. That is why we have established NewTechLab Academy.

Our activity in the field of fire protection is a great commitment to our customers, but also corporate social responsibility, which makes us want to pass on knowledge also in the area of environmental protection. We believe that this is a particularly important topic nowadays, which will allow us to build a common, green future.

In addition to our business goals, we have been placing strong emphasis on educational activities for a long time. We share our vision of running a business in a circular economy, we promote proper and professional disposal of firefighting waste, but we also emphasize how important it is to develop common environmental awareness. Thanks to this, all together we can change a lot around us and ensure that our planet can take a deep breath.

As a company, we have established the NewTechLab Academy, thanks to which we treat education as part of our business. Regardless of whether we start cooperation with new contractors or open new directions for business development, we always pass on knowledge about how we operate, how we use green technologies, and what we can do together so that we have a clean natural environment around us.

NewTechLab Academy is also an opportunity to pass on knowledge about green technologies to the young generation. Therefore, as a company, we are open and ready to support environmental education through cooperation with institutions and schools. It is the young generation that is our future and it is worth investing in their educational development.

The first NewTechLab Academy meetings are behind us. One of them took place in Milan. It was there that Silvio Bucci, the president of our company, had the opportunity to present the most important assumptions of professional disposal of fire extinguishing waste during a meeting with NewTechLab partners. By showing how the proper disposal of firefighting waste works, we promote good business practices and confirm that green technologies are not only our future, but also a space for dynamic development.

By sharing the news about the creation of NewTechLab Academy, we invite you to educational cooperation that will allow you to reach an even wider group of people, including entrepreneurs and local communities. From now on, education becomes part of our NewTechLab development mission.
